MIAVIT is a family-owned premix company based in Essen, Oldenburg, founded in 1964 and is now in its third generation. Miavit’s guiding principle has always been “Prevention instead of medication”. The name MIAVIT stands for the minerals, amino acids, and vitamins contained in our premixes. MIAVIT is a leading group in the field of manufacturing and selling additives, vitamin-mineral premixes and specialties for solving specific problems in modern animal production. It is present in more than 80 countries and with 4 production sites: Germany, Spain, Turkey and Vietnam.

  • Pablo Fuentes, Agr. Eng. MBA

    Managing Director

    More than 15 years of international experience in sales and marketing premixes at BASF and Miavit. Primarily focus on micro-ingredients for land-living and aquatic animals. Extensive knowledge and expertise in direct sales and product development of premixes for all types of production animals. 

  • Odd Elvebø, BSc, BBa

    CEO and Managing Director

    Global experience in product development, sales and marketing within salmon feed- and feed ingredient companies. Extensive experience in the management of different sales organisations and successful product development.

  • Stig Myran, BSc

    Commercial Sales Manager

    Food Technologist. Global experience in sales and marketing of micro-ingredients. Twenty years in BASF Animal Nutrition with a primary focus on ingredients for fish feed.  Broad background from direct sales to the whole aquaculture value chain.

  • Rebecca Heavyside, PhD

    R&D Manager

    Background in Biochemistry and Fish Immunology. Twelve years’ experience as a researcher in the aquaculture industry. Specialises in functional feed ingredients and fish feed development to promote fish health in aquaculture.

  • Baldassare Fronte, PhD

    Assistant Professor at University of Pisa

    Team member under the AFI & UniPI research agreement framework.

    Expertise in fish biology, fish nutrition, aquaculture (freshwater and marine) and sustainable aquaculture. Responsible of the Zebrafish Facility at the Department of Veterinary Science of the University of Pisa, with deep knowledge of in-vivo trials (both at lab and field level).

  • Rosario Licitra, PhD

    Project Manager, Post-Doc at the University of Pisa

    Team member under the AFI & UniPI research agreement framework.

    Broad experience using zebrafish as an animal model in zootechnics, veterinary and translational medicine. In-depth knowledge in neurobiology, molecular biology, toxicological and nutraceutical screening, and behavioral testing.

  • Viviana Sarmiento, MSc

    Product Manager and PhD student

    Chemical engineer and specialist in analytical chemistry, with vast knowledge in chemical laboratories, industrial processes and quality. Deep understanding and global perspective of chemical processes, analytical equipment qualification, standardisation and validation of methods, as well as operation of state-of-the-art chemical equipment.

  • Hamed Salehi, MSc

    Product Manager

    Fish and Shrimp Nutritionist. 7+ years’ experience in product development and aquafeed production for both industry and research institutions. Specialises in feed digestibility, growth performance, and nutritional effluent assessments. Doctoral candidate at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany.
